Nurture Happiness Today shares four of our favourite (NOTL) Niagara-on-the-Lake inns we have stayed at! We absolutely love the delightful accommodations, wineries, and the culinary offerings in the area which keep us coming back to NOTL.
There are a variety of hotels and accommodations in the area of Niagara. Inns are typically smaller than a hotel, often offering a unique, more intimate stay. This beautiful area is an ideal place to explore and stay in such accommodations. We share comfortable stays at Niagara-on-the-Lake inns that we think have charming character, lovely for a relaxing or romantic getaway. We have stayed at all the recommended inns listed below!

Woodbourne Inn
A stunning inn that is a beautifully restored home. It is “an 1839 historically designated treasure”, as described on their website. Woodbourne Inn is one of our favourite Niagara-on-the-Lake inns. We stayed here during the Christmas season and enjoyed our enchanting, short stay for two nights!
We booked “Room Seven” on the third floor which features a king bed, gas fireplace, and a full bathroom which had a soaker tub and separate shower. The room was beautifully furnished and very spacious.

Highlights:
- Wonderfully intimate as there are only eight guest suites; six rooms have fireplaces.
- Full breakfast is included and absolutely delicious! There are separate tables for guests, which we prefer as well (i.e. some bed and breakfasts may have one dining table, shared by all guests).
- The shared spaces such as the living room and library, available for guests to enjoy, are beautiful.
- Approximately fifteen minutes drive to the historic Old Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake for shops and restaurants.

Location: 214 Four Mile Creek Rd, St. Davids, NOTL, ON, L0S 1J0, Canada
OUR RECOMMENDATION: visit this inn for a quintessential cozy bed and breakfast stay, any time of year! Notably, the Christmas and holiday season was particularly wonderful with all the decor!
Riverbend Inn
Riverbend Inn is a beautiful Georgian mansion located in Niagara-on-the-Lake. It is surrounded by acres of vineyards and offers a picturesque and relaxing getaway. Peller Estates Winery is also located next door.

There are different guestrooms and suites available. Accommodations may have one king bed, one queen bed, or two queen beds.
We stayed in a “Superior Room” for two nights in the summer which was lovely, very spacious, with views of the vineyards.

Highlights:
- Oaklands at Riverbend: delicious on-site restaurant. Fabulous outdoor terrace dining with outstanding vineyard views.
- Free use of bicycles.
- Trails for walking and biking nearby.
- Approximately five-minute drive to the historic Old Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake.
- no spa, no pool on-site
OUR RECOMMENDATION: stay at Riverbend Inn in the summer when you can enjoy the property outdoors (e.g. fire pit, adirondack chairs, restaurant patio, and complimentary use of their bicycles!) In the winter, there are not any notable amenities (at the time of writing), other than the on-site restaurant.
Location: 16104 Niagara River Pkwy, Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON L0S 1J0, Canada

Oban Inn
If you are looking for a Niagara-on-the-Lake inn in the Historic Old Town, we enjoyed our stay at the beautiful Oban Inn. It is a boutique hotel that has 28 guest rooms.
We booked a “Premium King Fireplace” which was very spacious and elegantly decorated.
In addition, we enjoyed the onsite restaurant for breakfast and a three-course dinner included in a package during our stay.
Throughout our wonderful time here, service was friendly and great at the Oban Inn!
UPDATE: We have stayed at the Oban Inn several times since our first visit! This inn is wonderful for a weekend getaway in Historic Town Niagara-on-the-Lake!

Highlights:
- Pool: outdoor pool
- Gym: indoor gym
- Restaurant Oban Inn: on-site restaurant, also open to the public.
- We always eat breakfast here whenever we stay at the inn!
- OSpa: onsite spa that offers massage, facials, body treatments, and more. The spa was small but provided the peaceful and relaxing time we were looking for. We enjoyed our couples massage!
- Located in the historic Old Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, walking distance and minutes to shops and restaurants on Queen Street.
- Approximately fifteen minutes walking distance to the Shaw Festival Theatre.
- Check the official website directly for special packages offered from time to time. For example, accommodation packages with meal(s) and/or spa inclusions that may be available.
- Bicycles: “Zoom Leisure Bikes” are available just outside the inn for rent.
OUR RECOMMENDATION: Oban Inn is a great cozy stay any time of the year! We often stay here as we can easily walk to town and the Shaw Festival theatres, the delicious breakfast at the on-site restaurant, and lovely decor!

This inn features “country elegance” in a charming nineteenth century restored building as described in their website.
Our stay at the Pillar & Post Inn is always enjoyable and conveniently close to the Niagara-on-the-Lake Heritage district.
In addition, we love the onsite restaurant! We highly recommend indulging in a delicious dinner at the beautiful Cannery Restaurant.
There are different guest rooms available. Recommended accommodations: in the main building, either Deluxe or Premium Guest Room with Fireplace. These rooms are spacious with elegant and traditional furnishings. Suites are also available and much larger than the guest rooms.
